Tim and Audrey - Your Check-in Team
These two lovely humans are my parents! And I tried to keep them away but they came along to see what the events were all about and now they’ve been adopted by the community and they come to almost every speed dating and social event. They are two very relaxed humans and that makes them the perfect people to welcome you – they’re the first faces you will see! Aud and Tim will scan your QR codes and sort out your name badges but more importantly…they will reassure you, be kind to you and help you from the minute you arrive.
DJ Andy Sharps - Disco DJ, Karaoke DJ and Co-Host
Andy has been the DJ for Speed Dating Shropshire since the very beginning…I even bullied him into being a karaoke DJ, much to his initial horror (but he was epic and will be doing many more karaoke singles events with me)! Andy is very popular with the community and has also become a co-host for the speed dating and singles events. He is my best friend and genuinely cares about the business. He is gentle, kind and people find him very reassuring at events. You’ll find him walking people to the bar at speed dating and social events, leading the charge on the mic between dates, but he’s never happier than when he’s banging out the tunes at our discos.
Quiz and Games Master Joe
Joe is my brother and a very natural Quiz and Games Master – I am so lucky he has such talent!! You will meet him at our quizzes and our Traitors for Daters events! He is funny (think dad jokes) and he has epic ideas! So between us we make sure our events are creative, and keep you suitably entertained!
Kirsty - Manager of Neuro Events Shropshire
My Personal Assistant, Co-Host and Event Photographer
Kirsty launched the newest part of the business, Neuro Events Shropshire – she will be hosting dating and social events for socially independent neurodivergent singles in Shropshire.
You all think it’s me running the show behind the scenes, but the truth is…I am more distracted than a squirrel in a field of nuts! I rely on Kirsty as my Personal Assistant in Speed Dating Shropshire to keep things on the right track. You will hear from her with matches after events – she is the sharer of the good news! You will hear from her with last-minute ticket sales for sold-out events (if you’re on the waiting list and someone cancels their place), and you’ll meet her at some of the events. Kirsty also co-hosts and is an event photographer (don’t worry, we blur photos at the smaller events).
Clare - Event Set-up Crew
You know those beautiful rooms you see at the events? Clare is responsible for these! I drop off boxes of things, and Clare turns the rooms into romantic, beautiful settings for you to meet your person! She’s an unproblematic Queen and I barely hear a word from her other than to say DONE and send me phenomenal photos of her work!
Debbie - Set-up Crew and Co-Host
When Clare is unable to set up an event, in steps our lovely Debbie!!! She is a beautiful soul and also forms part of our hosting team! Debbie loves to talk, and she’s very popular amongst the attendees! You will likely meet Debbie at check-in at bigger events like discos, karaoke or quizzes!
Wayne - Front of House Manager and Joe's Assistant (VERY organised)
Wayne is one of the most organised people I have ever met and we LOVE that!! This is why he manages the Front of House team. He also co-hosts at Traitors for Daters alongside Joe and you’ll also find him running the show at Quizzes and Games Nights! Wayne is quietly confident, not someone who makes the most noise, but someone who makes the room feel safe and secure! He has definitely got things handled, so we are always in safe hands when he’s around.
Jamie and Nathan - Your Security Team
Jamie and Nathan (who are also a couple…we LOVE this!!) are your security team! They don’t miss anything! They love the business, and we love having them as part of the team! They are there to ensure everyone is safe at the larger events like discos and karaoke nights. We have not had any trouble, but we do get people trying to sneak in for a dance, and the odd rogue table collapsing! (Jamie tells me her toe is still bruised from this). At the end of the night, they watch the car parks to make sure you all get safely back to your cars or into your taxis. Do we NEED security? Probably not, but safety is my number one concern, so we hire them anyway!
Small (AKA Smally, Fluff, Small Head, Baloney)
THE Company Mascot
This is Small!! She is the official company mascot! We support Hibrae Rescue Centre and they pass your feline donations to a cat charity they are aligned with – Small is a big fan of your donations but is mad when she’s not allowed to eat them! To be quite frank with you, she’s not helpful BUT she does calm me down when I am acting like Bryn organising a barn dance (From Gavin and Stacey). So…we couldn’t do it without her….hmmmmm that’s what she wanted me to say okay!!

I will be on hand to chat with you on the night and introduce you to the other people while you are waiting for the dating to begin. No one will feel alone. It is perfectly normal to be ‘Nervcited’ (nervous and excited) but I want to do everything I can to support you.
