Speed Dating Shropshire Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
Welcome to Speed Dating Shropshire. These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in our events. By registering for or attending an event, or by using our website or Eventbrite page, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Speed Dating Shropshire aims to provide a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for singles through events such as quiz nights, barbecues, discos, and other themed gatherings across various venues in Shropshire.
2. Eligibility
To attend our events, you must:
- Be aged 18 years or older.
- Be single and not in any form of romantic relationship.
- Dress appropriately and in accordance with any specific event dress code.
- Behave respectfully and courteously towards all attendees and staff.
- Arrive punctually.
- Provide valid identification upon request.
Please note that companions/friends are not permitted to attend. Each person attending should meet the eligibility criteria and be prepared to take part.
3. Registration and Entry
Registration must be completed through our Eventbrite page. You are required to provide accurate and up-to-date information.
A valid Eventbrite QR code and proof of identity may be required for entry.
We reserve the right to refuse or revoke admission where necessary, including but not limited to breaches of these Terms, safety concerns, inappropriate behaviour, or circumstances which may negatively affect the event experience.
4. Attendee Information
Attendees are responsible for ensuring that any information provided when booking or attending an event is accurate.
Providing false or misleading information, including but not limited to age, relationship status, identity, or any information relevant to event eligibility, may result in refusal of entry, removal from an event, or being prevented from attending future events without refund.
5. Event Information
Event details, including date, time, and venue, will be confirmed upon registration. Attendees should arrive early for check-in.
We reserve the right to change schedules or venues with appropriate notice.
6. Dating Outcomes
Speed Dating Shropshire provides opportunities for people to meet and socialise.
We do not guarantee that attendees will receive matches, meet a partner, form friendships, or have any specific dating outcome as a result of attending an event.
7. Fees and Payment
Fees must be paid at registration.
Tickets may be cancelled and refunded up to 14 days before the event date.
Tickets cancelled within 14 days of the event are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by us or where otherwise required by law.
Tickets must not be resold, transferred, or passed to another person without our written consent.
8. Code of Conduct
Participants must behave respectfully. The following are prohibited:
- Offensive or explicit language
- Harassment or intimidation
- Unwanted physical contact
- Recording without permission
- Drinking excessively
Violation may result in removal and a ban from future events.
We reserve the right to refuse future attendance to anyone whose behaviour raises safety concerns or negatively impacts the experience of other attendees.

9. Privacy and Data Use

We comply with GDPR and do not share your data unless required by law.
10. Liability and Disclaimers
Attendees participate in events at their own discretion and are responsible for their own actions and personal belongings.
Speed Dating Shropshire is not responsible for any loss, damage, disappointment, or issues outside of our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability which cannot legally be excluded under the laws of England and Wales.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Speed Dating Shropshire against any claims arising from your actions during events, including legal fees.
12. Cancellations and Changes
We may cancel, postpone, reschedule, or make changes to events where necessary. If we cancel an event, we will notify attendees and offer appropriate alternatives.
If you are unable to attend, you may cancel your ticket up to 14 days before the event date and receive a refund.
Cancellations made within 14 days of the event are non-refundable and non-transferable.
If you inform us that you are unable to attend an event, this will be treated as your cancellation and confirmation that you are giving up your place.
Due to the nature of our events and the importance of maintaining suitable attendee numbers and balance, cancelled places may be offered or reallocated to another attendee immediately.
Once you have cancelled your place, your original booking is no longer guaranteed and you may not be able to attend if you later change your mind.
A cancellation made by you within the non-refundable period does not override our refund policy. No refund, credit, or transfer will be provided because you have chosen not to attend, even if the place is later reallocated.
13. Force Majeure
We are not liable for events we cannot control, including, but not limited to, natural disasters, strikes, venue closures, or health emergencies.
14. Medical and Accessibility
Please inform us of any medical or accessibility needs before attending. We will make reasonable accommodations where possible.
15. Complaints
Complaints should be submitted via email within 7 days of the event.
We aim to respond within 14 days.
Complaints will be reviewed fairly and reasonably. We reserve the right to limit communication where complaints become abusive, excessive, repetitive, or unreasonable after a full response has been provided.
16. Photography and Media
By attending, you consent to being photographed and/or filmed.
Photographs and videos taken by Speed Dating Shropshire may be used for promotional purposes including our website, advertising, and social media.
You may opt out by informing staff in writing at the start of the event.
Attendees should only take photographs or videos of staff and other attendees with their express permission.
Taking photographs or videos of others without permission may result in you being asked to remove the content and/or leave the event.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Disputes will be resolved in English courts. Parties are encouraged to mediate first.
