Speed Dating Shropshire – Personal Safety and Welfare Policy
At Speed Dating Shropshire, your personal safety and welfare are our highest priorities. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment at all our events. This policy outlines our approach to ensuring your safety during and after events, as well as our expectations for participant behaviour.
- Code of Conduct and Respect
All attendees must treat each other with dignity, respect, and kindness. Unwanted attention, inappropriate comments, harassment, or any disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated. Speed Dating Shropshire has a zero-tolerance policy for abusive or predatory conduct.
- Personal Safety at Events
– Always keep your personal belongings with you.
– Do not share personal details (e.g., full address, financial info) during initial interactions.
– If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe at any point, inform a member of staff immediately.
– We ensure staff are present throughout all events and work closely with venue security when necessary.
- Meeting Outside of Events
If you choose to meet someone after an event:
– Meet in a public place.
– Tell a friend where you’re going and who you’re meeting.
– Arrange your own transport.
– Trust your instincts. If something doesn’t feel right, leave.
– Report any concerning or inappropriate behaviour to us confidentially.
- Handling of Reports and Complaints
We take all reports of misconduct or safety concerns seriously. If a complaint is made:
– It will be handled discreetly and sensitively.
– We may contact both parties for information.
– We will keep a record of all incidents.
– You may be asked to provide evidence where appropriate.
- Sanctions for Breach of Conduct
Where there is a breach of conduct, the following steps may be taken:
– First incident: Verbal or written warning.
– Repeated or serious incidents: Immediate and permanent ban from all future events.
– In severe cases (e.g., threats, stalking, physical aggression), we will report the matter to the police.
- Commitment to Continuous Safety
We are always improving our policies and practices. Your feedback is valued, and we welcome suggestions on how we can make our events safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
